First aid, CPR, and AED training

First aid programs last 14-16 hours, encompassing the emergency medical services (EMS) system and recognizing and reacting to a variety of emergency situations. Wound care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) are some of the most popular topics included in the first aid program.

CPR/AED-only classes are also available, with three levels lasting 4, 5, and 6 hours respectively.

Certification

Students are required to have complete attendance, at least 75 percent on the written exam, and good skill demonstration to pass a program or class. Certificate cards are awarded to all students who are able to pass. Wall-mount sized certificates are optional and may be requested.

Certificates must be renewed  / re-certified within three years through recertification programs. Recertification classes for first aid and / or CPR take 4 to 8 hours. First aid renewals include CPR level A, C or HCP (health care provider) recertification.

Private instructors

All trainers at Grande Prairie First Aid are certified by St Mark James. They have hourly rates for private training so you can book them for training at home or for special events like conferences. You can inquire further about rates and schedules through an e-mail or telephone call.
